Seeking Administrative Assistant
The Office of the Grand Secretary is seeking an individual for the position of Administrative Assistant to
the Grand Secretary. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Grand Secretary in support
of the members of the Grand Lodge of Montana. The position will be in Helena, Montana and work under
the supervision of the Grand Secretary. The Administrative Assistance will also be required to work with
the Grand Lodge Library and Museum as well as the other records and archives of Grand Lodge. The
position may also require some travel within the State.
Must be an independent thinker, self-starter, enthusiastic, dependable, and have the ability to get along
with diverse groups of Masons, particularly a diverse volunteer group of Lodge Officers, and the public
at large. Experience in office management, budgeting, above average knowledge of Bookkeeping and
accounting principles and the use of QuickBooks On-Line. Must be able to prepare a wide range of
reports in many formats. Must be familiar with Microsoft software and computer maintenance.
Must have demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Public speaking and writing skills are
required. Problem-solving and common sense are a plus. The Administrative Assistant will work closely
with the elected and appointed Grand Lodge Officers and particularly Lodge Secretaries. Must be able
to research ritual, the book of Ancient Constitutions, Mackey’s Jurisprudence, and the Constitution and
Code of Statutes of the Grand Lodge AF&AM of Montana.
