70 Year Member Presentation


                                  Logan James Shedd










































             On Feb. 8, Deadwood Golden Star Lodge #7 Logan James (Jim) Shedd was presented his 70-year
            pin and certificate at a special ceremony at Ashlar Lodge #29 in Billings, Mont., as a courtesy for
            Deadwood Lodge and the Grand Lodge of South Dakota.

             In this ceremony, Bill Murphy, Grand Master of Masons of Montana; Dave Schantz, Senior Grand
            Warden,  Grand  Lodge  of  Montana;  Jason  Smith,  Senior  Grand  Deacon;  Darren  DeHass,  Grand
            Chaplain; Dylan Crouse, Grand Organist; and John Hugdahl, Grand Historian. Brother Shedd became
            a Mason on May 11, 1951, in the Deadwood Masonic Lodge.




                Brethren,  On this happy and important occasion, we gather here for the purpose of
               paying a tribute of respect to Brother Jim Shedd who has served in the ranks of the
               Masonic Fraternity for a period of 70 years of devotion to the Masonic Fraternity, we
               may seriously reflect upon those years fraught with kindly reminders of diligence in duty,
               liberal benevolence and diffuse charity, but, above all, 70 years of constancy and fidelity
               to the ideals of our ancient and honorable Fraternity.

                  The Supreme Architect of the Universe has seen fit to grant us this time in which to
               pay special tribute to Brother Logan James Shedd,  who has been a member for 70 years,
               and we are most pleased to present this award to our Brother as material evidence of our
               admiration and warm Fraternal love.
