As a fi rst-grader, Raelynn Tash of Polaris School “When Masons present the bikes and Kindles,

the Dillon Lodge No. 16 and MMF Kindles for Kids said. “We are proud to partner with lodges for this
program. She fi nally won that e-reader as a fi fth valuable project.”
grader.
Raelynn attends a historic one-room schoolhouse
in Polaris, population 105. This remote ranching
community sits at the base of the Pioneer
Mountains with no cellular service and just a
smattering of buildings.
Yet reading brings the world to children like
Raelynn.
Investing in children makes a lasting diff erence
in our society, and that’s why Masons across the
state have supported Bikes for Books and Kindles
for Kids.
“By encouraging reading, we are giving kids extra
tools to be just a bit smarter than they were last
year,” said Bruce W. Lahti, foundation treasurer/
director. “A little bit better every year adds up
year after year.
We believe early intervention to help children fi nd
better paths is the most eff ective and best use
of resources in our society. We believe making
children’s lives better makes a lasting impact.
