The Montana Masonic Foundation owns and operates office building occupied by the Grand Lodge AF&AM of Montana also housed within the building are the Montana Masonic Museum, and the Montana Masonic Library and Research Center.
Montana Masonic Museum is home to a distinguished museum, library, and research center, with collections oriented toward Masonic and Montana histories and items of early American history, early Montana history and the role of the Freemasons in the development of Montana.
There are extensive collections from the American Revolution to the present, Masonic jewels made of Montana gold and silver, regalia, paintings, engravings, photographs, and ephemera.
Our library books and manuscripts are vast; the oldest book in the collection was published in 1740. We have handwritten documents of early state history. Visit this fascinating collection of Masonic objects, ephemera and the vast collection of books and documents.
The Montana Masonic Museum & Library docents will be happy to show you around and share some of the exciting information about Freemasonry and the history of the state of Montana.
To acquire, document, protect and preserve, and exhibit the unique physical and cultural history which reflects the story of the Freemasons in Montana and the world. The Museum’s additional but not lesser mission is to research, exhibit, promote and publicize the rich historical and cultural heritage of Freemasonry for the benefit of residents and visitors.
The Montana Masonic Museum will be a vibrant social, cultural and economic centerpiece of the town and will be regarded as an entertaining and worthwhile tourist destination. The Museum will be a resource for scholars, historians and educators as well as people interested in history. The Museum will preserve and catalog important objects and documents and will use those items to provide educational and cultural programs for the public.
