From 1866 to 1868, Wilbur F. Sanders served as one of the early Grand Secretaries of the Montana Grand Lodge. Following him, Solomon Star held the position from 1868 to 1870. Hezekiah L. Hosomer succeeded him and served from 1870 to 1871. The role of Grand Secretary was then taken over by Cornelius Hedges, Sr., who held office from 1871 until 1907. His son, Cornelius Hedges, Jr., continued the legacy from 1907 to 1925. Luther T. Hauberg then served as Grand Secretary from 1925 to 1951, followed by Ralph N. Lodge from 1951 to 1954. Byron F. Gaither took on the role from 1954 to 1964, and Lyman E. Smith served from 1964 to 1972. Finally, Donald W. Schenck held the position of Grand Secretary from 1972 to 1982, contributing to the lineage of past secretaries who shaped the Montana Grand Lodge.
1982 - 2002 - Dean M. Lindahl, a notable figure among the Past Secretaries of the Montana Grand Lodge. 2002 - 2017 - Reid L. Gardiner continued the legacy as another esteemed Grand Secretary. 2017 - Present - Daniel J. Gardiner upholds this tradition as the current Grand Secretary.
